A person died when a lorry ran over him in the Samanpura area in, Trincomalee at around 5 on Tuesday morning.The deceased has been identified as fifty year old, Clarence Nihal Edmon, a resident of Kelaniya.
He was reported to have been temporarily residing at a relatives’ residence in the Samanpura area.
The incident occurred when his cousin brother ran over the victim early morning. It has been reported that the victim had been sleeping under the lorry when the incident took placeThe postmortem examination is due to take place today. The relative of the cousin who was the driver of the lorry has been taken into custody by the police.
